Who they were
Achard, born about 1100, studied at the school of St-Victor in Paris and entered the community there, becoming abbot in 1155. Elected Bishop of Séez in 1157, he was kept out by King Henry II, but used his influence at the English court to make the royal treasurer release money owed to the poor.
In 1162 he became Bishop of Avranches.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he is honoured as Blessed by long-standing veneration.
