Who they were
Near Munich in Bavaria in Germany, in the prison camp of Dachau, Blessed Adam Bargielski, priest and martyr, who, during the war, gave himself up voluntarily to the enemies of the faith in place of his parish priest and, after suffering cruel tortures in prison, reached eternal glory unconquered.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 8 September as a priest who gave himself up in place of his parish priest and died at Dachau.
