Who they were
Laywoman and teacher, the sixth child of a Lithuanian farming family, deported to the Soviet camps where she wrote a prayer book for her fellow prisoners and died in 1955. The Hagiography Circle places her death at Khabarovsk; santiebeati.it places it at Taishet.

Why that counted as sanctity
On 14 January 2000 the metropolitan of Kaunas asked the Congregation for the Causes of Saints that she be beatified as a martyr; the inquiry opened on 24 September 2000 and closed on 28 June 2023.
