Who they were
Agabus was a prophet of the New Testament, mentioned in Acts 11:28 and 21:10, probably living in Jerusalem. He foretold the famine that came in the reign of Claudius, and in the year 58 warned St Paul of his coming captivity.
Tradition counts him among the seventy-two disciples and among the martyrs of Antioch. The Roman Martyrology names him on 13 February.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

A prophet of the apostolic Church named in the Acts of the Apostles.
