Agapito Modesto Pamplona Falguera, Modesto Pamplona Falguera in the world, was a religious of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, born at Berga near Barcelona on 17 June 1907, who made his perpetual vows on 16 August 1934. Seized on the evening of 21 July 1936, he rejoiced that he could offer his life for Christ and stood out for the good example he gave his fellow prisoners, and he was put to death at Tarragona on 28 August 1936; he was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis with Manuel Borrás Ferré, auxiliary bishop of Tarragona, and their companions.
