Who they were
At Cîteaux in Burgundy, in present-day France, Saint Alberic, abbot: among the first monks of Molesme, he came to the foundation of the New Monastery, which, once elected abbot, he governed, devoting himself with every zeal and effort to the formation of the monks, as a true lover of the rule and of his brethren.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 26 January as an early abbot of Cîteaux devoted to forming his monks.
