Born at Martina Franca, he was bishop of Oria from 1947 to 1978 and founded the Istituto delle Oblate di Nazareth.

The Diocese of Oria opened his cause of beatification on 19 January 2023, and Cardinal Pietro Parolin presided over the Mass closing the diocesan phase on 29 August 2026 in Oria.
