Albertino Maria Maisonade

Who they were

Born at Bordeaux, he left France when the Revolution broke out and made his simple profession at Casamari on 20 November 1793; he was an example of communion and prayer, and when the soldiers came he withdrew to the chapel of the infirmary and was killed after weeping at the sight of the Blessed Sacrament thrown down. Pope Francis beatified him with Simeone Maria Cardon and his five companions on 17 April 2021.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
