Who they were
At Cremona, Blessed Alberto da Bergamo, a farmer, who patiently bore his wife's reproaches for his excessive generosity towards the poor and, leaving the fields, lived in poverty as a brother of the Penance of Saint Dominic.

Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 7 May as a farmer, generous to the poor, who became a Dominican penitent at Cremona.
