Why that counted as sanctity
Michelotti was a Genoese engineering student who led a Focolare youth group and died in a fall while climbing in the Maritime Alps; his cause is joined to that of his friend Carlo Grisolia. The Holy See gave the nihil obstat on 4 September 2007 and the diocesan inquiry opened at Genoa on 25 September 2008.
