Catholic partisan commander in Liguria known as Bisagno
Who they were
An army lieutenant who took to the hills after 8 September 1943, he formed the nucleus of the Cichero division and, a practising Catholic without party allegiance, worked after the war's end to stop the score-settling killings in Genoa; he died in an accident in May 1945.

Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco began his beatification process for the archdiocese of Genoa, and the diocesan inquiry opened on 9 December 2021.
