Who they were
Brother Braulio José (Alejandro González Blanco) was born at Villovieco, in the province of Palencia, on 27 March 1890, and made his perpetual vows as a Brother of the Christian Schools in 1918. He worked in Madrid, Jerez, Griñón and Villagarcía, above all in educating children. He belonged to the community of the Brothers' Madrid procure when he was arrested and killed on 30 July 1936.
Pope Benedict XVI declared him a martyr in 2011, and he was beatified at Tarragona on 13 October 2013 with his companions.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
One of sixteen De La Salle Brothers killed in Madrid in the religious persecution of 1936-1937, beatified as martyrs in 2013.
