Who they were
Monsignor Alessandro Vitetti was parish priest of Cariati cathedral from 1969 to 1987 and was known for travelling constantly to hear confessions and give spiritual direction. The Hagiography Circle gives his birth as 12 January 1915; local Catholic reports give 12 October 1915.

Why that counted as sanctity
Archbishop Santo Marcianò began collecting testimonies in 2007 and the diocesan phase opened at Cariati on 24 February 2008, with the nihil obstat of 19 December 2007; the acts went to Rome in 2011 and the cause is at the positio stage. The archdiocese of Rossano-Cariati and AgenSIR call him Servant of God.
