Alexander Crow

Who they were

The Roman Martyrology remembers him at York in England as a priest and martyr who rose from being a humble shoemaker to the priesthood and ended his martyrdom gloriously on the scaffold for his priesthood under Queen Elizabeth I; the Acts of the Apostolic See list him among the eighty-five martyrs as a diocesan priest of thirty-six, put to death at York in 1586. He was beatified by John Paul II on 22 November 1987.
