Who they were
In the town of Nawojowa Góra in Poland, Blessed Alfons Maria Mazurek, priest and martyr, who, in time of war, was killed for his Christian faith by the invaders of his homeland.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 28 August as a priest killed for his faith at Nawojowa Góra.
