French-born foundress of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, a teacher of poor girls in Spain
Who they were
Registered at birth as Louise-Félicie, she entered the novitiate of the Holy Family at Bordeaux in 1843, took the name Alfonsa and was sent in 1846 to Mataró in Spain to run a school for poor girls; after years of difficulty she opened another school for poor girls at Logroño in 1865 and died there, having founded the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.

Cardinal Carlos Osoro presided at the opening of the diocesan phase of her cause at Pozuelo de Alarcón on 5 September 2022, with Father Sergio Alentorán Baeta as postulator; the inquiry closed on 27 January 2024 and was declared valid on 19 February 2025.
