Why that counted as sanctity
The Diocese of Šiauliai promotes his cause of beatification (nihil obstat 20 March 2020) and its own website calls him "Dievo Tarnas" — Servant of God — organising a Lenten pilgrimage in his footsteps from Meškuičiai to the Hill of Crosses led by Bishop Eugenijus Bartulis. He was a Lithuanian diocesan priest who died at Raseiniai in 1999.
