Alois Andritzki

Who they were
Alojs Andricki was born on 2 July 1914 at Radibor in Saxony into a Sorbian family of five children. He studied theology and philosophy at Paderborn and was ordained in Bautzen cathedral on 30 July 1939, then served as youth chaplain, chaplain of the Hofkirche in Dresden and director of its boys' choir.
Arrested by the National Socialists, he was sent to Dachau, where on 3 February 1943, aged 28, he was killed by lethal injection. On 10 December 2010 Benedict XVI authorised the decree recognising his martyrdom.
The miracles
As a martyr he was beatified without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
A young priest who kept faith with Christ and his people under Nazism and was killed for it at Dachau.
