Who they were
Luigi Scrosoppi was born at Udine on 4 August 1804 and ordained priest in 1827. Drawn to the poverty of St Francis, he followed in the end the path of St Philip Neri and joined the Oratory.
He founded the Sisters of Providence of St Cajetan to bring up poor girls in a Christian spirit.
