Who they were
Ana María Janer was born on 18 December 1800 at Cervera, in the province of Lleida, into a deeply Christian family. As a girl she visited and nursed the sick in the town hospital, and there her vocation to religious life grew.
Superior of the hospital community from 1830, she was exiled to France for four years after the conflicts of 1833–1836. She founded the Sisters of the Holy Family of Urgell and served the poor and sick, in whom she saw the suffering face of God.
The miracles
A healing judged scientifically inexplicable by the Dicastery's medical board on 15 October 2009 and attributed to her intercession by the theologians on 13 January 2010.

She saw the suffering face of God in the poor and the sick, and served them with strength all her life.
