Who they were

A coadjutor brother of the Congregation of the Passion, born on 23 September 1906 at Becerril del Carpio in the diocese of Palencia and professed on 4 December 1922; a member of the Daimiel community from 1929, he was shot at Carabanchel Bajo on 23 July 1936. He was beatified on 1 October 1989 by John Paul II, among Nicéforo Díez Tejerina and twenty-five companions of the Congregation of the Passion.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology names him among the Passionist martyrs of Spain.
