Anastasius of Cordoba

Who they were

At Cordoba in Andalusia in Spain, the holy martyrs Anastasius, priest, Felix, monk, and Digna, virgin, who all died together on the same day: Anastasius, having confessed his Christian faith before the Moorish consuls, was promptly run through with the sword, and with him also Felix, of Gaetulian origin, who had professed the Catholic faith in Asturias and was living as a monk; Digna, still very young, who at the killing of her companions had courageously spoken out in blame of the judge, was beheaded without delay.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 14 June as a priest of Cordoba who confessed his Christian faith before the Moorish consuls and was run through with the sword.
