André Boucher

Who they were

André Boucher, called Brother Xavier in religion, was born at Cheniménil on 3 August 1920 and baptised there on 7 August; he received the Franciscan habit at the novitiate of Kermabeuzen near Quimper on 17 September 1940 and made simple profession a year later. Recruited for the compulsory labour service in August 1943 and taken to the neighbourhood of Cologne, he died at Halberstadt on 15 March 1945, aged 24. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
