The Roman Martyrology remembers Blessed André Fardeau, priest and martyr, guillotined at Angers in France in hatred of his priesthood during the French Revolution. He was beatified on 19 February 1984 by John Paul II, among Guillaume Repin and ninety-eight companions killed in hatred of the faith in 1793-1794.
