Who they were
André Parsy was a layman born at Roubaix on 24 December 1922 and baptised on the last day of the year; a textile worker, he joined the Independent Christian Youth and then the Young Christian Workers, becoming parish leader in 1943. He left for the compulsory labour service in Germany on 12 March, at Halle, where he kept the Young Christian Workers community alive, and after his arrest by the local Gestapo on 4 October 1944 he died at Trebitz-Wittenberg on 26 December 1944, aged 22. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
