Andrea Calle González

Who they were

Andrea Calle González was born at Plasencia near Caceres on 26 February 1904, made her religious vows as a Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul in 1936 and, like several of her companions, worked as a teacher. She was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis, among the companions of Melchora de la Adoracion Cortés Bueno.

As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

She had been professed only months when the persecution of 1936 took her life.
