Who they were
At Pistoia, Blessed Andrea Franchi, bishop, who, as prior of the Order of Preachers, after the epidemic of the Black Death had ended, brought back the observance of discipline in the Order's convents of this region, and in his city approved the Confraternities of penitents in order to foster peace and mercy.
