Who they were
María de los Ángeles Guerrero González was born in Seville on 30 January 1846. As a small child she had to leave school to work in a shoe workshop. In 1871 she privately promised the Lord to live the evangelical counsels.
As Mother Angela of the Cross she founded the Sisters of the Company of the Cross. She kept no privilege for herself that she did not keep for the poor, whom she called her masters and served in everything.

A working-class girl who made herself poor with the poor and served them as her masters.
