Who they were
Angelo Carletti was born at Chivasso in Piedmont in 1411, remarkable from childhood for holiness and purity, and took doctorates in civil and canon law at Bologna. He entered the Friars Minor around thirty and was four times vicar-general of the Cismontane Observance.
When the Turks took Otranto in 1480, Sixtus IV made him apostolic nuncio to preach the war against them. He was a noted moral theologian. He died at Cuneo in 1495.
The miracles
He is honoured as Blessed by long-standing veneration; the Catholic Encyclopedia does not describe a formal cause.
Why that counted as sanctity
A lawyer turned friar, a moral theologian and a leader of the Observant reform.
