Who they were
Antonillus Martínez-Santos Ysern was born at Campo de Criptana on 9 November 1914 and had begun to study medicine in Madrid before entering the Order. He was in his novitiate year when he was killed in 1936, and Pope Francis beatified him on 18 June 2022.
The miracles
As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The decree states that hatred of the faith, above any political reckoning, made the killing of these Servants of God especially savage.
