Polish foundress of the Sisters of Divine Providence, who took in women off the streets of Lviv
Who they were
Marcjanna Mirska worked with the Daughters of Charity and then with a Lviv refuge for women leaving prostitution, and on 8 December 1857 founded the Sisters of Divine Providence, approved by Pius IX in 1867. The congregation gives her birth as 28 July 1822 in Przemyśl, against 10 January 1822 at Bybło in the Hagiography Circle record.
