Who they were
At Apamea in Syria, Saint Antoninus, martyr, who, a stonecutter, is said by tradition to have been killed at twenty years of age by the pagans for having thrown down their idols because of his ardent faith.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 2 September as a stonecutter of Apamea who, tradition says, was killed by pagans for throwing down their idols.
