Who they were

A priest of the diocese of Vitoria, born at Elduaien in Guipúzcoa, he founded the secular institute Alianza en Jesús por María for consecrated laywomen living in the world.

The miracles

No miracle has been approved. The decree on heroic virtues has been promulgated; a miracle would come next.

Why that counted as sanctity

His cause was opened in Madrid in 1982 and the decree on his heroic virtues was promulgated on 25 June 1996; the institute's own site calls him Venerable.

The cause

Antonio Amundarain Garmendia has been declared Venerable; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: The cause of Antonio Amundarain Garmendia.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
