The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints lists him as the thirteenth of the thirty martyrs of Brazil. The Roman Martyrology names him among the beati of that group commemorated on 3 October. He was beatified on 5 March 2000 by Pope John Paul II and canonised on 15 October 2017 by Pope Francis.
