Antonio Delgado González

Who they were

Antonio Delgado González was born at Burgos in Spain on 28 January 1915 and entered the monastery of Santa María de Viaceli, where his frail health kept him from beginning the novitiate and he was received as a choir oblate; even so he stood out for the depth of his piety and his conduct.

He was beatified on 3 October 2015 by Pope Francis, among the Spanish Cistercian martyrs of the Strict Observance.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints names him among the Spanish Trappist martyrs beatified on 3 October 2015.
