António José de Sousa Barroso
Portuguese missionary in Angola and Mozambique who became Bishop of Porto
Who they were
Born at Remelhe, Barcelos, he was ordained in 1879, served as a missionary in Angola from 1880 to 1891, was then bishop-prelate of Mozambique and Bishop of Meliapor, and was appointed Bishop of Porto in 1899.

Why that counted as sanctity
Pope Francis recognised his heroic virtues on 16 June 2017, making him Venerable; the Bishop of Porto publicly welcomed the proclamation and the diocese published the decree of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints on 26 July 2017.
