Who they were

The decree on martyrdom records that he was born at El Ferrol on 15 November 1869, made his religious profession in 1890 and was ordained priest in 1893, was submaster of novices and was known for his gentleness, and that near death he urged his companions to confess their sins and forgive their persecutors. He was killed at Calanda on 29 July 1936 and beatified on 11 March 2001 by Pope John Paul II.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

The decree says that even in life he was held to be a saint, and that facing death he urged his companions to forgive their persecutors.
