Roveggio joined the Comboni Missionaries in 1884 and became vicar apostolic of Central Africa, dying at Berber in Sudan in 1902.

Why that counted as sanctity
Santi e Beati lists him as a Servant of God and gives his birth as 23 November 1858; the Hagiography Circle record says 13 November 1850, and the Catholic source has been followed.
