Who they were
A priest of Cerignola in Puglia, called locally the Don Bosco of Cerignola for his work with the young, who also started a rural credit bank for poor farmers and founded the Dominican Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament.

Why that counted as sanctity
His diocese opened the inquiry on 4 October 1995, a decree on his heroic virtues followed on 10 December 2010, and the diocese today calls him Venerable and asks for prayers for a miracle to advance the beatification; it marked the centenary of his death in May 2026 with Cardinal Marcello Semeraro.
