He spent 23 years in the Order's centres in Ecuador and Peru and inspired the new Albergue San Juan de Dios in Quito for the sick, homeless and marginalised.

The Hospitaller Order reports that Rome granted the nihil obstat for his cause on 30 April 2024, from which point he is called Servant of God; the diocesan phase is to be opened in the Diocese of Asidonia-Jerez where he died.
