Who they were
Antonio Toral Cascales, of Peñarroya, was born between 1913 and 1914 and was one of the lay men of the diocese of Córdoba put to death in the persecution of the Church in Spain, suffering martyrdom on 14 October 1936. He was beatified on 16 October 2021 by Pope Francis among Juan Elías Medina and 126 companions of the diocese of Córdoba.
