Who they were
Prince August Czartoryski was born in exile in Paris on 2 August 1858, into the Polish princely family that worked from the Hôtel Lambert to restore the unity of partitioned Poland.
Of frail health, he followed his vocation with firmness and became a Salesian, and was ordained at San Remo on 2 April 1892. He died the following year.
