Who they were
Baldassarre Kagayama Hanzaemon was a noble samurai, named in the Dicastery's list of the 188 martyrs of Japan, and he was beheaded at Hiji in Oita, diocese of Fukuoka, on 15 October 1619. He was beatified on 24 November 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI.
