Who they were
Barbara Ku Seong-yeol was one of the martyrs of Korea. The list of the Korean martyrs published by the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints records that she was killed at Daegu on 19 December 1816, at the age of 40; she was beatified on 16 August 2014 by Pope Francis.
