Bartolo Longo

Who they were
Bartolo Longo was born at Latiano, near Brindisi, on 10 February 1841. Studying law in Naples from 1863, he was drawn into spiritualism and abandoned the Catholic faith he had been raised in, before returning to it.
A layman devoted to Our Lady and to the Christian education of peasants and children, with the help of his wife he founded the Shrine of the Rosary at Pompeii and the Sisters of the same name. He died at Valle di Pompei on 5 October 1926, aged 85.
The miracles

She was healed perfectly and suddenly of an enterocolitic syndrome with malabsorption and malnutrition, severe anaemia with motor disturbances and gallstones. The Dicastery's medical board declared the healing scientifically inexplicable on 22 March 1978.
Why that counted as sanctity
A convert from spiritualism who became an apostle of the Rosary and built a shrine and works of charity at Pompeii.
