Who they were
Bartolomeo Maria Dal Monte was born at Bologna on 3 November 1726, ordained priest in 1749 and graduated in theology in 1751.
He preached missions to the people and the clergy in 62 Italian dioceses, and founded the Pious Work of the Missions to prepare diocesan priests for mission preaching. He died on 24 December 1778.
