Who they were
Benigne de Canet de Mar was born at Canet de Mar on 15 May 1890, made his solemn profession on 15 August 1911 and was ordained priest on 17 June 1916. He took shelter from place to place until he was arrested on 19 August 1936 and killed on the road at Horta in Barcelona.
He was beatified on 21 November 2015 by Pope Francis, among the twenty-six Capuchin martyrs of Barcelona.
