Benito María Ferrer Jordá was a lay brother of the Third Order Capuchin of the Sorrowful Virgin, born at Burriana in 1872; the decree calls him a devout religious, sparing of words, and he was martyred in the town of Turis on 16 September 1936.
He was beatified on 11 March 2001 by John Paul II, among Vicente Cabanes Badenas and his eighteen companions of the Third Order Capuchin of the Sorrowful Virgin and the laywoman María del Carmen García Moyon.
