Who they were

A professed religious, in the world Alejandro, born on 9 July 1887 at Palencia; he was one of twelve religious of the community of Carabanchel Alto near Madrid, who were caught taking food to the sick and shot at Boadilla del Monte on 1 September 1936, crying 'Long live Christ the King'. He was beatified on 25 October 1992 by John Paul II, among Braulio María Corres, Federico Rubio and sixty-nine companions of the Hospitaller Order of St John of God.

The Roman Martyrology names him among the Hospitaller martyrs of Spain.
