Who they were
Priest born at Itu in 1819 into a wealthy family and ordained in 1840, who in 1869 sold everything he had and devoted himself to the patients of the Hospital dos Lázaros, the leprosarium.

Why that counted as sanctity
The diocese of Jundiaí calls him a Servant of God and keeps the anniversary of his death on 6 March; the nulla osta was granted on 15 January 2002 and the diocesan inquiry closed on 28 October 2007.
